As usual, Barcamp Saigon is held on a beautiful Sunday of December 2010 at RMIT University Vietnam. Keeping its traditional activities, Barcamp Saigon focuses on topics related to technology and education and prepares for SaigonEduCamp from this year.
The remarkable development of technology world throughout this year has greatly influenced the online community. Many new trends, tendencies have bloomed and massively spread across the community. Beginning with the race of local social networks, it turned out that Facebook is the one holding the most influence. In addition, we cannot help but to mention the group-buying model with the participation of VC’s MuaChung, Diadiem’s Nhommua, VNG’s ZingDeal, Vinabook’s HotDeal, etc. In short, 2010 can be seen as the year of new things that stir Vietnam’s dotcom world.
However, this event did not satisfy the participants because the speakers and the audience seemed to have an invisible wall between them. The audience was more about passively receiving information than participating in discussions. All the topics were general with undetailed information and target. Because of that, Barcamp Saigon 2010 did not leave its imprint on the audience.
